Children's Ministry
At St Andrew's Kinson we value children and young people as a key part of our church.
We provide groups, activities and events especially for them and want them to get caught up in a vision for God that will give them direction and purpose in life.
We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:
-
Little Discoverers - Creche (0 months to Year 1). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/grown-up at all times.
-
Adventurers (Years 2 to 6)
-
Illumin8 (Years 7+)
2000 years ago Jesus said ‘Let the little children come to me” and we believe He continues to say it today!
Our hope is that the children we serve will experience the extraordinary, extravagant love of God and they must have bags of fun.
The time the children spend in our Children & Youth groups should be both relevant for their lives now and be solid, foundational preparation for their futures. It should help them to be prepared to make a natural transition into adult church.
St Andrew's Kinson is a place where, in community with others, Children & Youth can feel safe and valued whilst they discover and celebrate who God has made them. Their gifts and talents must be encouraged and opportunities given for them to grow and to serve in the Kingdom of God.
Through worship, prayer and bible teaching we want our Children & Youth to enjoy the awesome presence of God and ‘taste and see’ that He is good, developing an appetite for more!
Parents are primarily responsible for their children’s spiritual growth and at St Andrew's Kinson we want our children’s ministry to be an excellent support for, and close partnership with, parents. As someone once said ‘it is better to build strong children than repair broken men’ and at St Andrew's we want the children’s ministry to be a place where ‘building faith’ and ‘growing disciples’ takes centre stage.
All our Children & Youth workers are known to the church, have undergone Safer Recruitment in accordance with National Guidelines and Safeguarding Training which is refreshed and updated every 3 years. For more information please go to our Safeguarding
Page. We also endeavour to have a First Aid trained team member in our groups.
